Jodi Picoult Plain Truth

I just finished reading this book by Jodi Picoult, Plain Truth. This story about an Amish girl undergoing the guilt and sticking to her truth about what she knows, even to the brink of being accused of murdering her own newborn baby.

This is the first time I heard of Amish beliefs and I kind of respect them in what they practise. They are called "Plain People" in the town they live in, their community is strong, helping one another in times of need.

Katie is just like another ordinary teenager who is accused of being the murderer of her newborn baby. The court involves Ellie Hathaway, her "cousin" and defending lawyer, both of them built a strong relationship with one another along the way.
I am amazed by the ending... the real "murderer" who killed the baby for a reason... LOVE.

My Years Beyond

Thank God for all His Blessings!

Actually I do not know what to do with this blog.. what niche I want it to be.. I realized that I have been abandoning it in a way...

I received an email from a lady who urged me to write a story of myself... starting from the day my husband's demise and till today, how and what encouragement I should give to those who are facing the same dilemma as I did .. and that was more than 13 years ago.

My memory is not very sharp, I cannot actually remember how I have gone through these years of living by myself with my three wonderful kids. But I know of one thing very clearly..

That is.. through it all, there is someone who is always with me, in me and for me... Without Him, all I can say is.. No Life Lifted...

Looking back, I cannot remember how tough and rough life had been for us... my kids and I.. all I remember was .. each day is a day we want to look forward to.. never looking back with anger and remorse.. but looking back with a feeling of gratefulness and gratitude...

There Is None Like You

It has been some time since I last updated this blog. I wonder in amazement when I heard many bloggers are maintaining more than 10s, 20s, or 100 hundred blogs.. how do they really do that??

Well, I guess it all comes down to time management. I really do not have the time to do what it is needed. As the Bible has written, it is difficult to serve two masters at the same time, one of them will be having a better service than the other. Meaning to say, we cannot worship God and other idols at the same time. There is only one God, as the song lyrics goes, I Will Have No Other Gods Before You.....

Girl Talk With God

This book is one of the best Christian books I have ever read. "Best" in the sense of relation, this book is practically related to me and my teenage girl. Girl Talk With God is not only for girls to read, it is suitable for mothers or fathers as well, in fact it is a family sort of book where it brings an understanding between the parents and their kids.

As we all know, at this growing stage, girls and boys are vulnerable to the changes in their lives. The phase they are growing through at this time is between child and adulthood and there are many hindrances and differences between the two generations. Susie Shellenberger, the author writes about how the communication should be, she puts her mind into an understanding of a girl and she speaks to God and how God relate to her. It is indeed an eye-opening and yet private conversation that takes place in most girls' mind and heart and how they relate to God Himself.

Reading this book can lead my girl to a better understanding of God, I am sure of that. She might not know how to create a conversation with God earlier on but I dare say when she finishes reading this, she will definitely turn to God in all things that come her way.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com <http://BookSneeze®.com> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Nerved UP!

I was really "nerved-up" in the church practice a while ago.... gosh, how could I... Why is my temper so short nowadays? Can I blame it on PMS?
In the house of the Lord, I was quite worked up during the practice. Am I a perfectionist in music? I hope they will sing it correctly tomorrow, but then, did I sing it correct too? I told them I would rather not sing that part because the three of us will be singing in 3 different versions which will more or less "murder" the song.... gosh!!
But after some practising... my temper cooled down.... sigh... how I wish I am more qualified to tell others what to do ....
May God be the one who Leads us tomorrow....
