The Emptiness In Me...

This whole afternoon, the internet was down in my office and in my quiet time, I switched on a worship songs CD.... the smooth peaceful songs were so refreshing to listen to and suddenly I felt a pang of sadness seeping into my heart. It was an empty feeling, I felt I was alone...alone in the sense that I have neglected my Lord, my God... and it was a kind of a lonely feeling. Have I really stray away recently? Did I not spend time with Him and be close to Him as I have before? What have distracted me......

I must go on... I must continue to run the race.... I cannot stop where I am now.... I need Jesus in my life, without Him, surely there is no meaning....no meaning in the sense that.. why am I here.. what am I doing now... Where shall I go ... and how I am going to live on...WITHOUT HIM BY MY SIDE???

Help me Lord...help me to focus more on You and less of me.... You are Needed... every now and then... Continue to Disciple me.... I humbly pray....

Wake Service

Last week one of my cell member's husband has passed on...leaving my friend a widow now with 2 grown up children. During the wake, the deceased's brother spoke of him, how he was taken care of by his elder brother, protecting him during the Japanese occupation time. Then he wanted to dedicate this song Jesus, We Enthrone You and we stood up to sing. While singing halfway, he just broke down and cried ... He cried with despair and frustration because he couldn't express how much he loved his brother while he was still alive.

It was indeed very touching and I couldn't help not shedding some tears as well. This wake has jolted me up a bit.... now we are with our love ones, we shouldnt take them for granted... while we still have time, let us express our love for them.. we will not regret later...

Lust

I listened with a span of disgust this morning as my friend related to me about a man who is going for a short trip in Ho Chi Min. His intentions is to look for some "fun" over there, without fear, with a relaxing mind and anticipation. He wants to go to karaokes to have a room with his friends and same time, he wants to look at the poor girl stripping off piece by piece... When I heard that, I feel so sad.. sad to hear that there is this man who wants to have that thrill and doing goodness-what.

Then coincidently, today daily bread speaks of lust in humans. The lust of the flesh, the insatiable appetite to indulge in pleasures that inflame the flesh but never satisfy. Well, humans do tend to be lustful, knowing very well, it is just a short pleasure but it is still a never ending lust.

True satisfaction can only be found in our love ones and from our heavenly Father, true relationship is found only when we give our affections to eternal things...

"The world is passing away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever"
1John 2:17

Let worship be for God, not for us...

Ever feel down when it turned out not what you expected it to be? Well, I did.. I was feeling that way when my worship leading was not what it turned out to be...

Yesterday, we had a good and exciting time practising the songs in church before today's morning service. Everything seemed to be going on smoothly yesterday and we were looking forward to lead worship this morning in front of the congregation.

I don't know exactly what happened, suddenly, I lack the confidence in doing the "echoing" and it didn't turn out good, in fact, it was bland during that particular song. I don't know why I couldn't follow up with the "echo" on that song....I felt very disappointed, I still do...

Just now I received a sms from Jane, my pastor's wife, complimenting us of the worship... I didn't feel better, in fact, I replied that I hope to do better next time, thanking her.

Shortly after that, these words came to my mind... it is not the worship that counts, it is the focusing on God that matters.. When we worship, it is more important to focus on God and not just sing with our hoo haa voices...

Bible Translation

Just came back from church an hour ago. Tonite message from Mr Louis Ratnam was very short and brief but it brought the meaning of Bible Translation to the congregation. He related to us the importance to reach out to so many people, all over the nations. To the distance and to the near as in Malaysia, there are still 108 translations to be needed for the understanding of the Malaysians. Kudos to the missionaries who sacrifice so much of their lives to do the works of our Lord Jesus Christ. May their good work reach out to the many peoples of the world....

Feel The Peace

My Methodist church is from a smaller town where I am staying. It holds two services, one on Saturday evening and the other one on Sunday morning. My church holds around 300-400 people, with rows of pews on wooden benches and a stage that holds a full band of 5 musicians and 4 leading worshipers. It is a traditional type of building, not too big and yet, it is very homely-like and comfortable too.

During school holidays, whenever I go to the city where my brother stays, we will attend church services in a theatre-like building. Actually it was formerly a big theatre and now being restored into a church. Upon entering , it is like going into a enormous worshiping place where one can really feel the love and care among one another. The seats are positioned in a reclining angle so that no one will be blocked by anyone from the big screen. In fact there are three screens, one in the middle and two more screens at a 45 degrees angle. The stage is 3 times as big as my church which holds a bigger band and more worship leaders. When the music starts, the sound system is loud and clear and you can worship your whole heart out without feeling shy or conscious. One can really bask in the surrounding of the Holy Spirit moving among our midst.

For those who wants to come to feel the lovely ambience's of our God, do come and attend the event hosted by CineMeetings & Events. Find out more in this coming event which will bring together respected thought leaders, pastors and church leaders from the nation’s most innovative growing churches. You will find out more when you attend the first-ever inaugural Theatre Church Conference in Silver Spring, MD on October 22 & 23.

Spend A Quiet Time

When I read the Daily Bread just now, I asked myself this question that brings out the busyness in me... How much time did I spend with my Lord?
Day in, day out, I am doing my own personal stuff, all that is routinal and I do them without giving a moment to God... at the end of the day, I say my daily prayers to Him and at times I feel bad because I know I didn't really spend a quiet time with Him, to read His words and linger awhile with Him...
Just now when I read this passage, it reminds me again...
Now this is my quiet time...to read and to linger and to blog about how I feel...
This quote touches me...

Take time to be holy
The world rushes on
Spend much time in secret
With Jesus alone
Jesus longs for our fellowship even more than we long for His...

Roses For You...

This beautiful Rose tag was given to me by a beautiful blogger, Constance and I want to thank her very much for sparing a thought for me.....

Seeing this rose reminds me of a poem during my schooling days when we were asked to sign autographs with one another... it goes like this...

Rose are Red, Violets are Blue, Sugar is Sweet But Not as Sweet As YOU.....

Well, though it may sound childish and common nowadays, nevertheless, it brings a refreshing thought and makes one smile when one lingers on it...

Ok, now for the rules....

The rules of the award are:

1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you’ve nominated.

I want to give this roses to my friends, you have been very supportive, cooperative and blogative... haha.. I wonder there is such a word.. anyway, all of you are very sweet...

Uzziel, Cathy, Narutochen, Miss Ray, Kelly, Merlyn and Serene.

What Would You Do...

This morning I came across a question ... "When people observe your life, do they see the love of Christ in you?" OH dear, this is one question that probes into our daily lives.. As for me, I don't have the courage to say that my friends see Christlike characters in me. Each night in my prayer, I do ask God to forgive my trespassing and help to mould me, discipline me ... I know I have not been bringing Him glory and honour to His name.. At times, during the nights, I reflect back what I have done or said during the day, did I do anything to shame my Lord..

And some words from a book came to my mind... When we are accosted with difficult situations, let us think for a few moments...asking ourselves, what would Jesus do if He is in our place? I am sure if we spare a few moments to think, the answer will be there.....

I want my heart His throne to be
So that a watching world may see
His likeness shining forth in me
I want to be like Jesus, yes, its He...

A Small Talk

This blog of mine didn't have any google ranking at all, only the N/A sign was there.. then lately, when I heard bloggers commented on their PR, I also did some checking on my 2 blogs. The other one is an active blog but unfortunately still 0 ranking, whereas this blog of mine is an inactive one, I have PR1. I am still surprised till today because I know I didn't pay much attention to my blog here.
Well, I hope my posts here will not discourage or cause any misgivings in any way. What I have written, it is all from my opinion and rantings. Please forgive me if I have cause any discomfort to any readers.
May God Be The Judge...

Where Peace Begins

While blog-hopping to Kian Hin, I came across my favourite local artistes, Jaclyn Victor and Daniel Lee, both being Malaysian Idol winners, singing a duet.. a song in conjunction with the GLOBAL PEACE FESTIVAL 2008. I listen to the song over and over again, it is truly nice... I must share with all of u here...... oh dear, I don't know how to upload it to my blog here..let me paste the lyrics first. Just copy and paste this link and u can all hear the song too...thanks to Kian Hin.

Jaclyn: Here we stand together
One in all humanity
For we are sister and brother
We are one family
Daniel: Its our school of love and peace
Where we've learned there's a way
For the world to live in harmony
And together we all say
Jaclyn n Daniel(chorus): This is where peace begins
Here we sow the seeds of love
It all starts with our knowing
We are one family
We are one family under God
Jaclyn: Marilah kita bersama
Bersatu dan berharmoni
Hidup aman sejahtera
Di bumi tuhan ini
Daniel: Berbeza bangsa dan agama
Namun kita bersaudara
Dunia ini milik bersama
Biar aman selamanya
Jaclyn n Daniel(chorus): This is where peace begins
Here we sow the seeds of love
It all starts with our knowing
We are one family
We are one family under God
Under God
We are one
This is where peace begins
Here we sow the seeds of love
It all starts with our knowing
We are one family
We are one family under God
This is where peace begins
Here we sow the seeds of love
It all starts with our knowing
We are one family
We are one family under God
We are one family
We are one family under God
We are one family
We are one family under God

Give Thanks

Each time we celebrate a cell's member birthday or like some other occasion like a birth of a newborn baby, we will sing "Give Thanks". This song is appropriate for all happy times that we really are thankful unto our Lord. Don Moen can give a very sentimental version of this song.

Give Thanks with a grateful heart
Give Thanks to the Holy One
Give Thanks because He's given Jesus Christ His Son (repeat again verse)
chorus:
And now let the weak say I am strong
Let the poor say I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for me (repeat again chorus)

Postponed Meeting

This morning I met some of my cell group members having breakfast in a coffeeshop. I stopped by and asked them how the meeting went last Friday night. To my surprise, they didn't have the cell group meeting, not only I was unable to attend, there was a few others who had some committed appointments, couldn't make it too. So in a way, the meeting was called off but they told me, this coming Friday, make sure we are all available.
Well, I have to make sure, this Friday, hopefully, nothing urgent pops up.....

We Are 'Comforters'

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us:

The Father of mercies and God of all comfort.....comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God"

Though we are faced with trials and crisis, do not be dampened. We have our Almighty with us for it is written, He will Never Leave us Nor Forsake us.... instead when we are facing turmoils in our lives, we take it as a pillar of strength so that when others face the same consequences, we offer back our comfort that we receive from God to comfort others...

God does not comfort us to make us comfortable but to make us comforters as well....

Jokes

Jokes extracted from my church Family Focus...

"There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his congregation. "I have good news and bad news.... The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets."

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly. "I know what the Bible means!" His father smiled and replied, "What do u mean, you know what the Bible means?" The son replied, "I do know!" "Okay," said his father "What does the Bible mean?"
"That's easy, Daddy." The young boy replied excitedly. "It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth."

Staying Awake

Gosh... I m still awake..its 1am now... my mind is still very active... ah..now I remember, I slept for 2 hours during the afternoon break. No wonder... but then I better hit the pillow... one more post to cover and off to sleep, tomorrow or should I say today, I am going to watch Mama Mia with my buddies. I heard its a nice show...ok, I do my review tomorrow.... Goodnite.

Song Lyrics

Just want to share this... there is this website http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ whereby we can find songs lyrics with guitars chords, it is very useful for those who wants to play the guitar and sing as well... there is this song whichI find very touching, each time when it is played in church, it never fails to touch my heart and will bring tears to my eyes...

LORD YOU ARE ALWAYS HERE WITH ME

When trouble comes, I trust in You

For I know You will lead me through

And I know You are faithful till the end

And when the storms are drawing near

When I'm with You, I dont have to fear

You're my shepherd on whom I can depend

Through the days, through the nights

I know You're always be by my side

Lord You are always here with me

There is no changing God in thee

You are the same, yesterday and today and forever more

Here on your promises I stand

You hold my future in your hands

My solid rock, Almighty God, I worship You....

A Short Prayer

Recently when in the inspiring mood, I wrote this short poem about My God, My Lord... to remind myself to start a prayer each day....

Before we venture out each day
Lets take time to say a prayer
Be it short, be it sweet,
Let the words rise up to Him

A word of thanks, a word of praise
From Him always, we'll receive grace
There is no other gods besides our Lord
He is Alpha, Omega, our one and only God

A Friend In Need

1 Timothy 6:18 tell us to do good and be ready to give, willing to share.. because God is the ultimate giver. He gave His son, to offer us new life (John 3:16).

As quoted in the Daily Bread... "Because God gives us all we need, let's give to others in their times of need".

No Nobodies

1 Corinthians 12:12-31

These verses reflect the organs in our bodies.. as written by Paul, he said that we have spiritual gifts in each of us... Eyes see, ears hear, hands work and feet move the body forward. All are important and when each functions, the whole body benefits.

When we have weaknesses, we also have strengths. God has given each of us at least one gift to use for the good of the church. We need one another.... in other words, tehre are no nobodies.

Absence

Last night was cell group meeting but I couldn't manage to attend due to an appointment. I felt quite bad about it because it is supposed to be held in my house and now my members got to change venue due to my absence. Anyway, thanks to my sister, Chun, she managed to lead worship with her beloved guitar and also appreciation to Samuel who led the first lesson on the New Testament of the New Discipleship Book. Well, I hope they had a wonderful fellowship last night and I am looking forward to hearing it tonite from my sister during church's service.

Worship For MSF Dinner

Senior Methodist Dinner on the 30th September 2008.

Normally I look forward to going for dinners, where can sit comfortably and wait for the food. But on that night, I was having some jittery feeling because my sister and I have to lead worship for the first time in a dinner and having our guitars as the only back up music...
Thank God... after the prayer, the nervousness was almost gone and thanks to my sister, she was very steady too...

we arrived early to warm up.... the tables still empty...

these 2 men are special guest stars for the night..they were rehearsing too..

and then the worship started....

and ended with the 5 lovelies singing Whispering Hope and Country Roads... the one on the left is my sister...
