Unconditional Love

The power of unconditional love is lived out in our relationships. For example, whenever we parents were to raise their hands if we love their kids, all hands will go up. When we were asked whether we parents love our kids only if they are successful, all the hands eventually go down. So that means we love our kids unconditionally, right?

If God's love for us was based on our performance to the standards that His righteousness requires, then we would never have another moment free from anxiety. We need to know that we have all the love there is through Jesus. That is most powerful.... Once we believe that we are perfectly, unconditionally loved, we wont get misled by earthly things.

Humility And Confidence

Our tendency is to be aware only of people around us and those who are watching us. When we recognise that God is our audience and judge, it affects everything we do. All of life becomes a worship experience if we are always aware of God's presence and do everything to His glory.

If God is the object of our worship, the source of our security and self-worth, and our only audience and authority, false pride and fear are replaced by humility and God-grounded confidence as well. This is a very true fact. Hope we can abide to this.....

True Worship

True worship means that your eyes are on God and not on others. He is your audience of One; everyone else is in the cast. Jesus was scathing in His judgement of the scribes and Pharisees, whom He called hypocrites because they did their good deeds to be seen by men.

Don't do your acts of worship for people. Instead, Jesus said acts of worship are to be done in secret for Him to see rather than made a public show.

Matthew 23:5-7 "Everything they do is for men to see....they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues, they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them "Rabbi."

EGO

The Bible has much to say on the subject of pride. Proverbs 13:10 says.."Pride only breeds quarrels." Proverbs 16:18 says, "Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall." And Proverbs 16:5 shows "The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure they will not go unpunished."

How many of us read these words and say, "Not me, not me. I don't have false pride. I know that everything comes from God and is on loan to me." But often there is a more subtle way in which we Edge God Out - that is... FEAR!

In Times Of Difficulty...

God's word assures the believe that all pain is a process with a purpose. In fact, God guarantees thast the purpose will have a good outcome. Romans 8:28-29 says ...

And we know that in all things God workks for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son that He might be the firstborn among many brothers...

The guarantee of Romans mentioned above contains three truths that fortify us in difficulty.

Good Morning Lord...

Thank God for another wonderful morning that He has granted us. Even though my body feels very tired after a late night sleep, I am thankful that I can wake up with a brain that still works, limbs that still move and a eyes that still see. Thank you Lord....
Great thanks to Him for giving me a car to drive, an office to go to, friends to meet up with, food that is provided...
Give thanks to Him for His protection upon my love ones, my family and my friends as well...
Praise Ye O God, for All That You Done for us....

Faith and Endurance

Faith and Endurance comes side by side at times. How? Let me share some excerpts here on endurance.....

When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives, don't resent them as intruders but welcome them as friends! (oh gosh..) Realize that they come to test your faith and to produce in you the quality of endurance. (that is pretty logic) But let the process go on until that endurance is fully developed and you will find you have become men of mature character with the right sort of independence.

And if, in the process, any of you does not know how to meet any particular problem, he has only to ask God who gives generously to all men without making them feel foolish or guilty and he may be quite sure that the necessary wisdom will be given him.

Four Leadership Domains

I have been reading this book for the past week and I would like to share some excerpts here in my blog. It is about Leading Like Jesus and I hope it can be refreshing to you as it is to me....

Leading like Jesus involves the alignment of four leadership domains: heart, head, hands and habits. The internal domains-the motivations of your heart and the leadership perspectives of your head are things you keep inside or even disguise if it suits your purpose. The external domains, that is your public leadership behavior, or hands and your habits as experienced by others will determine whether people will follow you.

When your heart, head, hands and habits are aligned, extraordinary levels of loyalty, turst, and productivity will result. When thre areas are out of alighnment, frustration, mistrust, and diminished long term productivity will result.

Servant Leadership

The journey of servant leadership starts in the heart with motivation and intent. Then it must travel through the head, which is the leader's belief system. All great leaders have a specific leadership point of view that defines how they see their role and their relationships to those they seek to influence and are willing to teach it to others.

Jesus's leadership point of view proclaimed that leadership was first an act of service. He spent three years teaching His leadership point of view to His disciples. When He washed the feet of the disciples and sent them out as His ambassadors, was He commissioning them to do anything the people wanted?

Of course, the answer is No... Jesus was completely focused on pleasing His Father as His audience of One. That meant proclaiming the gospel and bringing salvation to mankind!

Meditate on the Word

Another way you live in the Word and the Word lives in you is to think about it or meditate on it. "His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law, he meditates it day and night."(Psalm 1:2-3) When memorization puts God's Word in your head, meditation puts it in your heart. You meditate on God's word when you focus on a specific verse of Scripture, concentrating on one verse a week. Select a verse that has been a key verse in a passage you have just read. Ask the Holy Spirit For His revelation as you meditate.

Memorizing Scriptures

Do you know how to memorize scriptures? I have to admit I do find it difficult at times to memorize and meditate on it... but here are some ways that might help us to "embedd" the Bible verses into our head. Read on....

1. Choose a verse that speaks to your need or that the Lord points out to you. (meaning that particular verse is looking back at you)

2. Understand the verse. Read it in context and in diffrent translations.

3. Develop some memory aids to help you remember the verse...eg. record it on a MP3 or CD.

4. Locate and underline the verse in your Bible so that you can visualize it on the page.

5. White the verse on a notecard or put it in your electronic organizer.

7. Place the verse in prominent places, kitchen sink, bathroom mirror, on your desk, dashboard of your car (for me, stick it on to my pc)

8. Meditate on the verse, savoring each word. Say it over and over again.

Well, of all the verses, I will choose number 7. How about u?

Comforting Verses For The Grieving

Let me share about this excerpt I just read a couple of days ago...

When the doctor told Phyllis that her husband had passed away, somewhere in her head, Phyllis heard teh words of 2 Corinthians 5:8 "Absent from the body.... present with the Lord," which assured her that her husband was in teh presence of Jesus. Then she heard Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heard and lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." And she was comforted by the words of Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted."

These words will be an encouragement and comfort for those who are in grief and who seeks solace from our Lord....

Leading Like Jesus

As followers of Jesus, we must seek to lead like Jesus in this world. The spiritual reasons for leading like Jesus are as compelling as they are challenging in a world where EGO-driver striving for self-gratification, self-promotion, and self protection describe the way leadership is done at every level of human relationship.

As a philosophy of leadership, servant leadership may be considered one option among many otehrs, but as a theology of leadership, it is a mandate for all who call Jesus as Lord....

ACTS

Yesterday while I was reading this book recommended by son, these points came to my mind.. and I would like to share them in my blog here...
Normally how do you pray? The question was asked... and according to this writer, he said the easiest is to follow the ACTS....

A C T S

A is acknowledging God, praising him....
C is confessing our sins ....
T is thanksgiving, thanking God for His many blessings, our families, our love ones, our friends, our provisions, so on and so forth... endless...
then S is for supplication... what we need to tell Him, asking for His mercy and Grace for our needs.....

So nowadays, ACTS is what I do.....

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:34 Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things...

Our lives are always filled with challenges and if we peer too far ahead of today, we might end up climbing "Mount Everest." They can appear impossible to handle if we think we have to be ready for the hill.

The Bible reminds us that today is all we need to tackle. We don't need to worry about tomorrow's tasks. Every hill in life is too high if we think we must climb it all at once. But no hill is insurmountable if we take it one step forward at a time - with God's help!

Grace, Mercy & Peace

Just came back from church... tonight is Holy Communion and sermon was by Pastor Jeyakumar. Tonight's topic is on 1Timothy verse 1-2. Short verses but big words used... the three big words by apostle Paul were Grace, Mercy and Peace...

These three Big Words were for Timothy during his time at a difficult church....

Pastor was speaking about these words and how they were applied to our lives today...

Grace is unconditional love from our God... can we give grace to others?
Mercy is forgiveness from God.... can we forgive others?
Peace comes from God... where the world can be in chaos, we who believe in God, are at peace... do you want that peace?

The Meaning of Worship

If we are to lead like Jesus, then we need to worship like Jesus. Worship is a heart issue. All the forms of worship are empty and meaningless if our heart isn't in them. In the Bible, it is written that people worshiped when they saw God or some evidence of God's presence and power. So worship starts with God and ends with God.

Worship means to bow down or to serve. Worship is an act of reverence and has the root idea of trembling or fear-that is in awe of God....

How To Get A Better Vision While Raining

How to achieve a good vision while driving? I suppose physics of light can explain. Fine rain drops cause light to scatter and get refracted, just like the way rainbows are formed. The sun-glasses cut out scattered and refracted light which make the scene in front hazy. Something like that.

This method was told by a Police friend who had experienced and confirmed it. It is useful...even driving at night.

Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet find the visibility in front of the windscreen is still bad.

In the event you face such a situation, just try your SUN GLASSES (any model will do), and see the miracle for yourself! All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windscreen is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain.

Make sure you always have a pair of SUN GLASSES in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely with good vision, but also might save your friend's life by giving him this idea..

Grace Of God

As I was reading my emails last night, I came across these words... it reminded me of Romans 8:28 and some verses in Galatians as well. "In all things, God will do good for those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose" and some meanings like God will not let you endure what you could not bear.....

Read on..

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did..' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

Patience With God

As I mentioned in my earlier post, at times reading make us engrossed that we r oblivious of our surroundings. Have u ever experienced that? Well, I have.... read on...

Have u read the little book of Ruth in the Old Testament yet? Well, if u had, were u tempted to sneak a peak to ssee how the story ends? If you did, you were probably disappointed. The final verses of Ruth Chapter 4-the climax of the whole story seem anything but climatic. What we find there is a genealogy only.... but as the chapter of Ruth continues, you will find the ending turn into something we need to know... ie. patience.

Be patient in our walk with God and He will surely show us the way He has predestined us....

God In Our Daily Life...

Let me share some quotes extracted from this article... it is a fulfilling passage....I will break into many parts in my Daily Desire blog, it should be more refreshing this way...hope you all will bear and follow my daily walk together with our Lord Jesus....

How to see God in the Dailiness of Life...

Do you enjoy reading? It is my greatest joy and sometimes my besetting sin. I can lose myself in a good book when I should be doing other things. Most of us who enjoy reading know that a good story can take us out of the humdrum sameness of our lives and transport us into the tension and drama of someone else's experience.

Yes, I agree with this author. When I start reading a book, it is like twilight zone. I imagine the scenerio in the book, how I feel as the hero or heroine...it makes the book so real that I feel I am engrossed into it.....

(to be continued....)

AA's First Day At Work

Thank God for AA who have found a suitable place to stay in KL .... a room shared by his college mate. Took him there on Saturday to deposit his stuff. Thanks to Bel for dropping him on Sunday to his place again. Called me at night to say the room was mopped, cleaned up and even the wardrobe we bought in Ikea has been adjusted DIY....

Today is his first day at work....give thanks to our Lord God once again for His grace upon us ... for allowing AA to settle down smoothly and I pray that His protection will be upon him each day....
