Lent Period

Easter is around the corner....in fact a week from now. Now is the Lent period where we are supposed to fast if we wish to, provided no complications. We can fast for half day or full day, we can drink fluids but no solid food. But seriously, I have never fast before, not even on vegetarian.
One day I might try... and I hope I can achieve that ... as far as I know now, I cannot go without breakfast cos I feel giddy .. but I believe with God's grace anything can be done.
Perhaps I try one of these days?

Our Simple Faith

Hebrews 8:11 Taught By God Himself... Know Our Lord...

This verse teaches us not to underestimate our Holy Spirit. Friends that we talk to might imprint in us that they have no interest in Jesus but we are wrong. Our Holy Spirit works in our friends/relatives' lives. We just have to sow the seed, God will do the rest. Not everyone is too young or too old to know Jesus.
Praise You Lord for Your wonderful works in many ways we need not ought to know. Our simple faith and prayers will do great works too!

Here I Am Waiting...

As usual early mornings when I drive to work, I will switch on my radio... this morning I didnt feel like listening to the DJ and I put on my worship CD instead. I feel I was leaving my Lord out these days, I was feeling tense and uptight... I need the refreshing quiet time with Him ... I am sorry Lord...
The song "Here I Am Waiting" came in just at the right time. The soothing voice calmed down my nerves... Abide In Me, I pray.... the lines just fit in my mood... I didnt know the arrangment of the songs cos I put the cd into random...meaning it will run by itself, the songs will be all jumbled up...

"here i am waiting, abide in me, i pray, here i am longing for You....
hide me in Your love, bring me to my knees
may I know Jesus more and more......"

These lyrics are very meaningful.... and more so when we need nourishment and spending a quiet time with Him, no matter where we are... He is always waiting for us to come unto Him...

Grace Through Faith

Galatians 3:5 says Receive GRACE THROUGH FAITH...

How awesome is our God, He saves us through grace and not by our works. As the Bible says, the last will be first... He saves us because of His mercy and grace for our lives. Through faith, all things are made possible!
But do we actually have faith in Him at all times?
I know I have made a lot of decisions myself many imes, not listening to Him nor praying about it. In doing so, many times things did not go as smooth as I want them to be....
I hope time and time again, He will "knock" on my head to remind me He is always there for me and to direct my paths...

I am indeed very grateful to my Lord Jesus... for all He has done....
My son received his results yesterday, indeed we have been praying hard for him...
His results was not what we expected, he himself was surprised that he can get better than he thought he would get.... in fact, he was a bit taken aback.... he even told us that if he would have studied a bit harder, he will get full As ...
Anyway, I am happy and relieved to see that he has passed through with passing colours...
All Praise Unto Our God... for blessing us and guiding us ...

Matthew 6:27 Worries...

I believe most of us worry each day, I for one worry when things did not go as smoothly as I expected it to be.
After reading today's devotion, I learn that worrying does not get us anywhere, it only stresses us up. All we need to do is to lay our cares and burdens upon His feet. God is our healer. Lets rest upon our Lord Jesus Christ daily... He is always waiting like a Father waits upon his child to come to him whenever we are troubled....

God Is The Greatest

From my journal on the 3/1/2006...says
Our sins are cleansed by His blood. What we would be suffering, Jesus has taken them away. Pain, hurts, betrayals, difficulties, tears, diseases and eventually death... all these through the blood of Jesus, are washed away... instead, we have lots to gain, all we need to do is to ask and we shall receive.

Our bitter situations are made sweet... Once we lay our lives and our faith in Jesus, He will make a way fo rus to overcome all difficulties. If only we.. We humans just obey and abide, rough waves will become still waters...

God Is Great... Amen..

Cross Conscious

Cross Conscious? What can I understand about being cross conscious? At first I was blank when I read the first sentence in my devotion booklet. But when I continue reading, the meaning of cross conscious lies on a few definations..

Cross conscious : Imagine Jesus dying on the cross, nailed mercilessly and painfully endured, He is without sin and yet He sacrificed Himself for us all...

Just think about Jesus for a minute...

How much He has to endure....

And... finally, with His blood, we are saved... by His grace....

Bless My Country...

Deuteronomy 28:3 says..Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country..

Yes, Lord, I humbly pray that You will be in control in my state and my country..
I lift up my state's and country's leaders unto You..
that Father, You will allow the fair leaders to reign over the people
Father, You will grant them wisdom ...
To lead the country with justice and integrity...

SMS God's Words...

Talking about verses in the Bible, I am going to start something new. Why not sms our love ones with a new verse each morning to start off the day? You will never know the wonder what the verse can do... it can be a simple verse to encourage one another, whether we are working, or perhaps some are in college, schooling or even for outstation friends whom we do not meet up often and yet we want them to know we are there for them....

Well, anyone, any verse that comes to you, perhaps it is a good gesture to spread our Lord's words to brighten up our days ahead...

(I better have a bible along with me... each morning :)

A Simple Verse

Yesterday I was really touched when my son sms-ed me a Bible Verse... He knew I was feeling depressed a few days back... and I am indeed overwhelmed by his concern for me.

It is a very simple verse and yet, I tend to forget when there is someone whom I can trust, in times of depression, down hearted or sad...

Psalms 46:10 says, Be Still and know that I am God...

Yes, I know I ought to be quiet in my thoughts for God and not always trying to solve problems by myself... With this verse, it will remind me that I am not alone..there is always Him who can lighten our problems and emotional feelings...
